Lighthouse (EA) Legal Clinic is a Tanzania-based social enterprise that provides corporate legal services to business community, especially Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Founded in 2016 by three young and ambitious advocates, LEALC is dedicated to bridging the gap between business community and the business laws surrounding them
Lighthouse (EA) Legal Clinic (LEALC) is a social enterprise dedicated to delivering corporate legal assistance to the business community, with a particular emphasis on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Our primary focus involves providing a range of legal services tailored to meet the specific needs of these businesses. These services encompass business formation and registration, consultation and advice on legal matters, commercial legal training, drafting and reviewing legal documents, translation of legal documents and contracts, counseling on legal compliance, research on business-specific legal problems, organization of legal forums, meetings, and workshops, effective management of MSMEs' intellectual property, alternative dispute resolution tailored for MSMEs, and provision of company secretarial services.
LEALC stands as an innovative legal clinic committed to delivering comprehensive legal services and imparting commercial knowledge to MSMEs, aligning seamlessly with the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since our establishment in 2019, we have strengthened our dedication by founding TRIANA ATTORNEYS a specialized law firm, serving as our commercial arm to more effectively meet the dynamic needs of the business community.
Our core mission centers on empowering MSMEs through customized legal solutions and furnishing them with crucial commercial insights. With a primary strategic focus on SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, we strive to cultivate sustainable business practices, ethical conduct, and social responsibility within the MSME sector. This commitment synergizes harmoniously with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), as these goals encompass elements of economic development and sustainable business practices that our legal services actively influence. Since its established in 2016, LEALC has demonstrated remarkable growth in its portfolio, attracting an expanded and diverse clientele. This evolution underscores the enduring trust and positive reputation fostered by our esteemed partners, with the entirety of our clientele choosing to maintain their association with our legal clinic.
LEALC vision is to be a leader for commercial justice in lieu of MSMEs, focusing on the delivery of basic legal services and cutting-edge management expertise to solve the most critical strategic and operational challenges faced by Tanzania’s business community today.
We serve MSMES and other social ventures by addressing the legal gaps that currently hinder their daily operations through the provision of legal services and knowledge.
